Twitter is reconsidering Elon Musk's offer to buy the social network, according to the Wall Street Journal. Negotiations for a possible sale began on Sunday.
When the billionaire first announced that he was willing to pay $43 billion for Twitter, Twitter rejected the offer. According to WSJ sources, Musk's statement that the proposal is the best and the last has become an obstacle in the negotiations.
However, Twitter's board decided to contact the Tesla founder to gather more information about his ability to complete the deal, as well as get better terms.
Twitter declined to comment for the WSJ. The company has previously stated that it is committed to a thorough, comprehensive and thoughtful review of the proposal.
