The yield on two-year US Treasury bonds rose to a maximum since the eve of the 2008 crisis - November 2007, Bloomberg drew attention.
The yield increased by eight basis points to 3.48 percent, and the yield on ten-year securities increased by the same amount to 3.13 percent. In addition, Australia's 10-year bond yield jumped 14 basis points to 3.72 percent and New Zealand's yield jumped 10 basis points to 3.98 percent.
This happened against the backdrop of a recent statement by the head of the US Federal Reserve System (FRS) Jerome Powell, which was cited by Interfax, about the readiness to continue raising the rate in order to bring inflation under control. The Fed's rate, he said, should reach a level that limits economic activity, and remain at this level for some time, so that the pace of consumer price growth slows down.
