In Artashat city, the renovation work of the local stadium is in the final phase, as a result of which it will be possible to hold major international track and field tournaments there. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia wrote about this on Facebook.

"616 million drams have been allocated for the purpose of the project.

"We also discussed the matter of implementing a complex program of building the adjacent swimming pool, renovating the wrestling and basketball gymnasiums.

"It will be very good if we do a European track and field tournament in Artashat. There are 110,000 people in the city. If we make active here, there won't be a place for an outsider either," Pashinyan added.
