Local authorities in northern Israel near the border with Lebanon, including in the town of Nahariya, have advised citizens to stay close to bomb shelters, the Times of Israel reported.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Home Front Command did not issue such instructions. In a war situation, local authorities routinely give their advice to civilians, the Israeli media outlet said.  

Nahariya is located about 10 kilometers from the border with Lebanon.
