Armenia has created a project called Crossroads of Peace. This is first of all about opening regional communication, but it is not only about communication because from the point of view of religious tolerance, it is also about communication between people because when transport communication is open, it is first of all an opportunity for people to communicate with each other and is a very important factor in creating sustainable peace. This was noted by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday within the framework of the 5th annual International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, D.C.

This is a kind of open proposal to Armenia’s regional countries, and they are working with each of them to implement this project, Pashinyan said.

Also, the PM emphasized that there are different religious communities in Armenia. There is no tension between religious communities in Armenia. There are forces everywhere that are trying to carry out some provocative actions from the outside. But Armenia’s structures are responding effectively, not allowing anyone to create any tension between religious communities, noted Pashinyan.

This is the real dialogue that is taking place in Armenia, which has the largest Yezidi community in the world, and that community is a very important part of Armenia and its national heritage. Armenians treat Muslims, Jews, and other religious groups with great respect, said Pashinyan.

The largest religious institution in Armenia is the Armenian Apostolic Church, but the country has the Armenian Catholic Church and other churches as well, and this is a kind of very important tradition for Armenia, Pashinyan emphasized.
