TEL AVIV. – At the sitting of the Commission on Education, Culture and Sport at the Knesset, Israeli MFA announced on Monday’s session its approach on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Ottoman Empire in 1915. Hot discussion is expected, head of the commission Alex Miller stated before the session.

Bill adoption by the French National Assembly on the Armenian Genocide previous week caused a huge scandal between Paris and Ankara. As a result of it, media pays an increasing interest to the upcoming session, Miller told IzRus portal.

Supporters of the Armenian Genocide recognition, including Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, parliamentary coalition representative Ze'ev Elkin will be present at the discussion. However, it is important to state each country has its rules and priorities, Miller added.

Besides, Miller advised not to copy the action of their French colleagues.
