YEREVAN. – According to rumors, Hayrapet Hayrapetyan, the owner of Armenian capital Yerevan’s Hayastan (Armenia) department store, has put his businesses up for sale for a fairly long time, Iravunk newspaper writes.  

“There is news that Hayrapet Hayrapetyan intends to sell all his businesses in Armenia, since he is seriously considering carrying out business projects, abroad, which can bring him greater and more secure profits. Incidentally, Hayrapetyan again is on a business trip abroad, where he is discussing with his partners the building of a shopping center and a new plant in Dubai. We called Hayrapetyan himself, to ascertain the reasons why [the ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party] PAP member decided to sell his businesses and move abroad, but his cell phone did not answer. And no one in PAP wished to enter into this matter, since, as per some PAP members, this is not in their ‘position,’” Iravunk writes.
