YEREVAN. – In an interview with Aravot daily past week, governor Kovalenko Shahgaldyan of Armenia’s Kotayk Region had stated: “Our Hrazdan [city] mayoral candidate, in the person of Mayor Aram Danielyan, will win by a landslide. And I propose to make the calculations accordingly,” the daily writes.    

“Commenting, upon Aravot’s request, on this statement by [the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia] RPA-member regional governor, Hrazdan mayoral candidate Sasun Mikayelyan said: ‘Before making calculations on the account of the people, that Kovalenko firstly ought to give account to himself as to his standing among the people. Time will tell whether his calculations are right or wrong. He is used to organizing elections with fraud, to use his office solely for his interests and to pressure the people. But I promise he will be unable to do that this time,’” Aravot writes.
