Iraqi PM Nouri al-Maliki responded in a harsh manner to Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statements made with respect to Iraq’s domestic matters.

In an interview with El-Hurra television, the Iraqi PM said they did not expect from Turkey to attempt to meddle in Iraq’s internal affairs in this way, Milliyet daily of Turkey informs.

“We came to understand in the recent period that Turkey is trying to interfere in Iraq’s domestic affairs, by way of announcements, and we will not allow this. Turkey has assumed a role which will bring calamity and civil war to the region. But Turkey will lose as a result, since several ethnic groups live there,” the Iraqi PM noted.
