Major roads across Israel are closed off due to protests demanding the release of hostages and an end to the war in Gaza, reports The Times of Israel.

Protesters have blocked major Israeli highways and have also gathered near ministers’ homes.

Einav Zangauker, the mother of hostage Matan Zangauker, says that after 690 days of “unclear purpose” war, it has become clear that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is afraid of one thing: public pressure.

According to her, the Netanyahu government has attacked the families of the hostages and the survivors of the captivity in an attempt to silence them.

“We have a wonderful country, but we do not have a government,” she said, calling on the public to join the protests.
