“What, is the topic of enclaves a secret?” Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan told reporters on October 22.

According to him, “there are areas where we (Armenia) are ahead, and areas where they (Azerbaijan) are ahead (of the border).”

He added that Azerbaijani officials also claim to have control over certain territories of Armenia. Simonyan said that the process of delimitation and demarcation is ongoing, reiterating that as a result of delimitation in Kirants, Armenia has “received a border.”

“No cartographer can state the exact number of Armenia’s occupied territories. The most realistic figure is the one I mentioned earlier,” he said.

Simonyan also welcomed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s statement about allowing the transit of Kazakh wheat to Armenia through Azerbaijan.

He emphasized that when speaking about the Crossroads of Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), it is not only about one road. “For example, a cable may pass 100 km away from that route, or a gas pipeline may go through a different path,” Simonyan concluded.
