Local authorities in Herat province of Afghanistan have tightened the dress code for women, the Afghan radio station Salam Watandar reports.

The new rules are based on Sharia law.

Accordingly, women are required to wear modest, loose-fitting clothing.

The main criterion is loose, loose-fitting, and discreet clothing that does not attract attention.

Wearing tight clothing contradicts the principles of the Sharia hijab.

This process will be promoted through education and peaceful interaction.
