As of 12pm, 350 from the 1,629 constituents voted at 28/28 Election Precinct, which is located at Arinj village of Armenia’s Kotayk Region, where the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan had earlier cast his ballot. The Precinct’s Commission Chairman Gor Sargsyan told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter on location, and added that no election violation is recorded at the Precinct so far.      

“[But] There were several complaints concerning the ink on the stamps. Initially our seal was stamping very well, but the citizens complained that the stamp was disappearing quickly. I instructed to stamp more firmly. [And] We made the ink stronger,” Sargsyan said.     

At that time, however, Sargsyan received a call from the constituency commission, and he was instructed to change the ink.    

“We were instructed to change the ink with a regular one, which we are using in the voting lists. 

Incidentally, Armenian News-NEWS.am’s reporter saw a close to 60-year-old man coming out of a voting booth and throwing the ballots into the ballot box without a stamp. Also, he did not present his passport to the commission member in order for the passport to be stamped.  

Gor Sargsyan noted that several observers from the Council of Europe are working at the Precinct since Saturday, and that there are solely two proxies there: one is that of Gagik Tsarukyan, and the other is from the Republican Party of Armenia.   

To note, the PAP leader is this precinct’s sole single-mandate MP candidate.
