YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) group discussed on Friday the petition by the Armenia’s Attorney General submitted to the Parliament in order to obtain its approval to remove MP Vartan Oskanian’s parliamentary immunity.

The PAP will provide all the MPs with arguments on the case on Oct. 1, otherwise, will ‘hoist its flag,’ the party secretary Tigran Urikhanyan told the journalists.

“We strongly believe that accusations are baseless, as for what our party is going to do in this connection, you will see once you have all the documents and facts,” Urikhanyan said.

To note, Armenia’s Attorney General Aghvan Hovsepyan submitted a petition to the Parliament on Thursday, to obtain MPs approval to remove Vartan Oskanian’s parliamentary immunity to include him as a defendant in the criminal lawsuit filed by the Armenian National Security Service (NSS). Also, Attorney General’s spokesperson Sona Truzyan claimed that the petition refers solely to the question of including him as a defendant in the lawsuit and not detaining him.
