YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Chairman Raffi Hovannisian—who has spoken about his intention to run for president in February’s elections—welcomed opposition Liberty Party leader and former PM Hrant Bagratyan’s wish to run in the elections. Hovannisian told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am during Friday’s congress of the opposition Republic Party.   

“I believe [Bagratyan] will elevate the quality and level of the [presidential] race,” he added. 

And with respect to a possible collaboration among them, Hovannisian noted that a variety of cooperation can be carried out once the election campaign starts. 

To note, the Heritage Party will convene a citizens’ assembly on Saturday, during which Raffi Hovannisian is expected to announce that he will run for president in the elections.
