YEREVAN.- Leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian has left for talks with incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan.

Addressing his supporters in Liberty Square, Raffi Hovannisian said that Serzh Sargsyan did not accept his invitation to enter the square.

“However, spokesperson for President Serzh Sargsyan said he is ready to receive me any time. Respecting third president’s contribution to independent Armenia, I am accepting invitation and I am heading for talks to find the way out of the crisis,” he said.

The next rally will be held at 5pm on Friday, he said. Accompanied by his supporters, Hovannisian is heading to presidential palace, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports.

Opposition candidate Hovannisian held a demonstration on Wednesday calling on President to meet and transfer power. He promised to stay in Liberty Square to wait for Serzh Sargsyan.

Earlier on Thursday People’s Party of Armenia Youth Council Chairman Narek Varazdatyan, who had joined Hovannisian on February 16, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the rally participants stayed at the square all night, together with Hovannisian; the night went as normal, without incidents; they were speaking with their supporters, and they did not pitch any tents, since there was no need.
