New Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appointed Alejandra Benitez as the country’s new Minister of Sports.  

Benitez is a master of sports in fencing, and she was the winner of numerous fencing competitions in South America and an Olympic competitor, in the not-so-distant past. 

Maduro justified this appointment by saying that Venezuela needs a course of renewal, Vesti.ru reports.  

But the past photos of the new minister have caused uproar in the media because Benitez had posed for a series of saucy photo shoots several years ago, in which she was covered by nothing but a fencing mask.
