YEREVAN. - A candlelight vigil was held in front of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia Monday in memory of the 50 victims of the Orlando gay-club shooting. The event was organized by Armenia’s LGBT community representatives.

The participants are lighting candles and laying flowers in front of the embassy, honoring the memory of the victims, Armenian News  - NEWS.am correspondent reports.

PINK-Armenia organization member Mamikon Hovsepyan told Armenian News  - NEWS.am that the event has been organized in memory of the victims in order to show that terrorism is unacceptable, and Armenians always stand by the peoples who have become terrorism victims.

U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills approached the participants and thanked them.

Fifty people were killed and 53 injured due to the largest shooting in the history of the US, which occurred on Saturday night at a gay club in Orlando. The suspect Omar Matin, according to FBI, called the emergency number and told that he was a supporter of the IP. The US President Barack Obama called the incident a terrorist attack.
