YEREVAN. – The funds provided by international donor organizations shall be spent for the intended purpose, so as to properly organize the upcoming parliamentary election in Armenia.

Vice President of the National Assembly (NA), Eduard Sharmazanov, on Tuesday told the abovementioned to reporters in Parliament.

“We positively assess our international partners’ disposition that the forthcoming elections in Armenia will be in line with democratic standards,” noted Sharmazanov.

Also, he singled out three steps that are needed to conduct elections in Armenia that meet democratic standards.

In his words, the first condition is the Armenian authorities’ respective political will, which, as per the NA deputy speaker, exists. The second step is the political forces’ consolidation, which, in his view, also is present.

“[And] the third step is the availability of financial means,” added Eduard Sharmazanov. “And, it seems this matter is also being resolved thanks to the assistance by our international partners.”
