A criminal case is opened into a serviceman being wounded Monday, at a military unit of the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia.
The soldier sustained a gunshot wound in the jaw, as a result of a shot from the weapon assigned to him, at the position of his combat duty. Andranik Hovhannisyan, 19, has been hospitalized and he is in critical condition.
French President Emmanuel Macron has sent a congratulatory message to Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the victory of the Pashinyan-led political alliance in Armenia’s National Assembly election, on December 9.
“France will continue assisting Armenia in the implementation of reforms,” Macros said.
He assured that France, as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country, will continue to pursue a pacific, fair, and lasting settlement to the Karabakh issue.
Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin warned against politicizing the murder of Armenian woman in Gyumri.
The diplomat said the issue should not be politicized, as it will affect the efficiency and impartiality of the investigation.
The suspect in murder of 57-year-old Armenian woman has been arrested and handed over to the Russian side. The suspect is 23-year-old driver A.R. who is a contract serviceman at the #102 Russian base in Gyumri. His involvement in the crime was discovered through fiber analysis.
An Armenian khachkar has been unveiled at Sydney's iconic St. Mary's Cathedral by Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, Anthony Fisher and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
The khachkar was donated by Stepan Kerkyasharian and Hilda Kerkyasharian, on behalf of the Armenian-Australian community as a sign of gratitude for the Sydney Catholic Diocese's honouring of the Armenian Genocide with a Holy Mass in 2015.
A representative of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) dismissed media reports about a threat of Armenian dram devaluation and a default expected in January.
“Neither default nor devaluation is expected in Armenia,” member of CBA board Artur Stepanyan said.
The Central Bank urged media not to generate fake news on inflation, exchange rates, reserves, deposits, loans and the financial system.
