Armenia’s Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan paid a visit to Lori Province to get acquainted with the situation over the freight train at Tumanyan Station. On site, the minister was greeted by Director General of South Caucasus Railway CJSC Sergey Valko, who expressed gratitude to Felix Tsolakyan for evasion of a potential explosion due to the self-dedicated efforts of rescuers and firefighters and assured that the consequences of the accident will be eliminated as soon as possible.

The minister assigned his employees to continue doing their best to assist in the recovery efforts.

A firefighting truck rolled into the gorge while rushing to put out a fire at the 10th kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road, leaving two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations injured. The minister visited the medical unit to see the patients. With the accompaniment of Governor of Lori Province Andrey Ghukasyan, Felix Tsolakyan also met with driver of the truck Aharon Sahakyan, who provided details about what had happened.
