make preferableYEREVAN. – An old Armenia, in any form, can never be an alternative to the new Armenia, chairman of Bright Armenia party Edmon Marukyan said during the 4th anniversary of this political force.
In his speech Marukyan said Armenia and its entire political system are in transition , which is a serious threat for any state.
“We are convinced that the quality and viability of the political system is an instrument in preventing this and other challenges,” he said. “If we can create a truly viable and effective political environment, we will also be able to get a steadily developing, sovereign, democratic, social country”.
He emphasized that the Bright Armenia party was strong enough to confront the changes, and the party found more sense in its existence “after numerous changes”.
“Now the question is why Bright Armenia and the opposition in general should exist after the revolution should exist. Our short-term plans are to act as a powerful, opposition. Being the opposition is not an end in itself. We’ve never criticized the government just for pointless criticism. Our mission was to be the possible competitor and a change for the authorities. In any situation, our people should know that an alternative to the new Armenia is the political force of the new Armenia, namely “Bright Armenia”. An alternative to the new Armenia in any configuration cannot be the old Armenia. The old cannot be an alternative to the new,” he added.
