YEREVAN. – Armenian capital Yerevan’s Mayor Taron Margaryan attended Tuesday the official opening of Yerevan Zoo’s new season. On this occasion, and with the Mayor’s instruction, the children’s admission to the Zoo is free on this day. 

A variety of events were organized throughout the Zoo for the little visitors.

Also, Taron Margaryan, accompanied by the Zoo Director Ruben Khachatryan and small animals, toured the Zoo and acquainted with the conditions established for the animals being kept there.   

Afterward, Yerevan’s Mayor spoke with news reporters and stressed that the Zoo’s development projects will be ongoing.

“We are cooperating with a variety of international organizations. We have preliminary projects, and the Zoo will meet international standards,” Margaryan noted.   

And as the year’s main accomplishment, Yerevan Zoo Director Ruben Khachatryan pointed to the gasification of the Zoo. 

“With the assistance by Yerevan Mayor, we were able to completely solve the heating problem of the Zoo cages. Also with the City Hall’s project, upgrading, and cage reconstructions and enlargement were carried out,” the Zoo Director noted.

In their turn, the Zoo visitors thanked Yerevan Mayor for the positive changes noticed all through Armenia’s capital city.
