YEREVAN. - Nationalization of non-working enterprises will not help Armenia’s economy, President Serzh Sargsyan said on Friday.
“We should oppose violation of property rights, it is very dangerous. We must create such conditions, under tax and customs law, so that it would be unprofitable not to operate an enterprise,” he said.
President noted that when dealing with the representatives of business circles, he is offered to establish duties against imported goods in order to support local producers.
“If the goods are not competitive, even a wall built on the border would not help. People are in need of competitive products. If we are talking about recovery, we mean not restoration of previously functioning companies but revival of our economy’s image,” he concluded.
