YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Police have seized a great quantity of weapons and ammunition in recent days. 

On Monday at 8am, 2 homemade guns, a hand grenade, 34 bullets, and 3 shells were found and confiscated at the home of Tavush Region resident Zhora M. The discovered are sent for an examination, and an investigation is launched, the Police press service informs.      

At 8am, a hand grenade, 881 bullets, a loaded machine gun cartridge, automatic weapon cleaning utensils, 2 boxes of gunpowder, a light-signaled missile, 3 Bickford tourniquets, and 8 Trinitrotoluene were found and seized at the home of Tavush Region resident Aramayis T., 26. The discovered are sent for an examination, and an investigation is underway.

At 3pm, the police officers detained, on suspicion of possessing ammunition and on a Gyumri city street, previously convicted Telman K., 31, and 7 automatic weapon bullets were found in his possession and confiscated. A forensic examination is commissioned, and an investigation is launched. 

And at around 7pm, the police found and seized an illegally-possessed hunting rifle in the possession Armen B., 43, in Zartonk village. Armen said the rifle belonged to his late father. The weapon is sent for examination, and an investigation is underway.
