YEREVAN. – Why should the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) now speak about the president’s resignation, especially when the new PM, Hovik Abrahamyan, is an acceptable choice for them?

Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) analyst, political scientist Edgar Vardanyan told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Vardanyan commented on the situation following the opposition Armenian National Congress’ (ANC) statement, according to which the main task of the four non-ruling-coalition parliamentary factions (ANC, PAP, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage) should be to oust President Serzh Sargsyan’s regime from power.

“It’s hard to say what position PAP will adopt. Besides, PAP has never spoken about the president’s resignation,” the analyst specifically said.

Nonetheless, as per the political scientist, it is clear that the future of the collaboration between the aforementioned four forces is in doubt.

“It might transform and the composition of its format might change. They could collaborate, too; let’s say introduce an economic plan; but its adoption, non-adoption will not change much,” Edgar Vardanyan added.
