YEREVAN. – The volume of Russian natural gas being supplied to Armenia has grown by 7.7 percent, totaling 719.1 million cubic meters, from January to March 2014, as compared to the same period last year. 

A total of 674 million cubic meters of gas were sold during the specified period of time, and this amount is 5 percent more that the same period in 2013, the Gazprom Armenia company press service informed.

The gas consumption by Armenia’s energy sector is 30.5 percent more, totaling 212.7 million cubic meters, as compared to January-March of the year past. 

But the natural gas consumption by the country’s industry and its residents have dropped by 29.4 percent and 3.2 percent, respectively, totaling 48.9 and 222 million cubic meters, correspondingly, in the first quarter of 2014.
