YEREVAN. – The Investigation Committee of Armenia has instituted criminal proceedings with respect to Azerbaijan’s shots fired recently at the Armenian military positions and settlements, Committee chairman’s press secretary Sona Truzyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“As we know, in parallel with the escalation of tension along the [Armenian-Azerbaijani] border starting from July 1, the Azerbaijani side was opening fire at the border villages [of Armenia], too, the farmers suffered great material losses; there were arsons.
“About two-dozen [criminal] cases have been filed in Armenia’s various investigative bodies with these incidents, and the investigations are underway.
“It should be noted that we have launched [criminal] proceedings especially with respect to encroachments upon civilians, when people were materially affected,” Truzyan said.
