YEREVAN. – Within the framework of the celebratory events devoted to the 23rd anniversary of Armenia’s independence, national dances were taught Friday in capital city Yerevan.

The project was carried out at the initiative of the Yerevan Municipality, and “Karin” Song and Dance Ensemble.

This event also heralded the start of the National Dance School program, wherewith the Armenian national dance will become a compulsory subject in schools.

Friday’s teaching of the national dance brought together Yerevan residents, Armenians who have come from different corners of the world, and foreigners.
