YEREVAN. – The Armenian News-NEWS.am’s sources have informed that Aleksan Harutyunyan—who was the former Chief of Staff of second President Robert Kocharyan, former Chairman of the Armenian Public TV and Radio Company Council, and is advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs—will be appointed ambassador.

We have learned that Harutyunyan will be designated Armenia’s Ambassador to Argentina, and serving Ambassador Vahagn Melikian will be recalled; but his future employment is still uncertain.

We spoke with Aleksan Harutyunyan about this information we have received. But he told Armenian News-NEWS.am that he cannot give any comments because if there is such a thing, this is discussed solely after a respective decree, and it would be incorrect to give any comments before that.
