The Pan-Armenian Games shall be held at appropriate level on the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stated at Friday’s Cabinet meeting.

Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan, for his part, noted that this year these games, which are held once in every four years, will take place from August 2 to 13.

Abrahamyan considered these games to be one of the most successful projects that connect Armenia and the Armenian diaspora.

“We have held five summer and one winter [Pan-Armenian] games [in Armenia] over the past sixteen years. This year they coincide with the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, and we must do everything to hold the athletes’ games at proper level,” the Armenian PM stressed.
