The forty-day series of events, and devoted to the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, have kicked off at the Maxim Gorki Theatre in the German capital city of Berlin.

The events will have the objective of remembering the innocent victims of the genocide. In this connection, Armenian films will be screened, performances will be staged, and relevant thematic exhibitions will be held at the theater until April 25.

The opening ceremony of these events brought together Chargé d’affaires of Armenia to Germany Ashot Smbatyan, Canadian-Armenian filmmaker Atom Egoyan, Canadian-Armenian actress Arsinée Khanjian, German political party Alliance ‘90/The Greens Co-Chairman Cem Ozdemir, and several German Bundestag (Parliament) members.
