Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia opened the U.S. Senate session on Thursday with a powerful prayer for justice for the Armenian Genocide.
Prior to the opening of session, Catholicos Aram I met with Senate minority leader Harry Reid and Democrat Jack Reed, the Armenian National Committee of America reported.
Later addressing the Senate, Jack Reed recalled that the world had recently marked the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. He added that no one is able to promote peace as it is done by Catholicos Aram I who represents “powerful force for tolerance and decency”.
