Incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko has won Sunday’s presidential election by garnering 83.49 percent of the votes, informed Chairwoman Lidia Yermoshina of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus.
Lukashenko, however, received the least amount of votes (65.58%) in capital city Minsk.
Nonetheless, the serving President has received the most number of votes in this election, as compared to the previous five presidential elections he ran in, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.
But the respective CEC data do not include the voting results of Belarus’ election precincts abroad.
