The fire started in the basement of the Shanghai Hongqiao airport during a renovation project.

As a result of incident at least two people were killed and four were injured. There were ten ambulance cars at the scene. The victims were taken to hospital, China Central Television (CCTV) reported.

The fire area was 100 square meters, Rosbalt reported.

 The fire has been already extinguished. Information on changes in the flight schedule has not been reported yet.
