Colombia's Ministry of Health has officially announced the end of Ziko viral epidemic in the country, reports the BBC. This was announced after the number of cases had risen to 600. The virus is still in the epidemic phase, but the number does not pose a threat for the population. In spite of the risk reduction , the citizens of Columbia, first of all pregnant women are still advised to be careful, because the risk of infection still exists.

Since last September - the beginning of Zika - about 100 thousand cases of infection have been registered in Colombia. Only 9 thousand out of them have been confirmed in the laboratory testing , though .
