On October 12, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II received Slovenian President Danilo Turk and accompanying him Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Karekin II presented church’s role in life of Armenian people, touching upon difficult stages of its history, press service of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin informed NEWS.am.

Turk spoke of his impressions about his visit to Armenia, noting that Slovenian people are aware of Armenian history and rich Christian heritage. As to relations between the states, Slovenian President said, “Geographically, we are far from each other, but have much in common. Our cooperation should have great future.”

The sides discussed relations between state and church, signs of decline of Christian values and views in Europe, stressing importance to foster spiritual values for peaceful life.
