YEREVAN. - Armenian Premier Karen Karapetyan on Friday received the specialists of Glendale Adventist Medical Center.

Upon the initiative of the mentioned medical center and with the technical support of the U.S. Western region affiliate of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, over five dozens of high-quality speacialists (including Diapora Armenians) have arrived in Armenia since 2015 to provide free medical services to Noyemberyan city hospital in Armenia's Tavush province.

The Premier thanked the Glendale Adventist staff for their important humanitarian mission and the work carried out. He also noted that in its program the Government has attached great importance to the reforms in the area of healthcare, aiming to form a new governance culture in the system, any positive experience being welcome in this respect.

Thanking the Premier for the reception, the President of the Center, Kevin Roberts, briefed the former on the details of the actiities carried out in Noyemberyan hospital in the period between October 16-21.

He also noted that the aim of the mission is to contribute to the improvement of the medical institutions in the border communities of Armenia, the exchange of experience between medical personnels and development of professional capacities. President of Glendale Adventist positively assessed the current cooperation, expressing readiness to continue and expand the partnerhsip.

Apart from this, issues related to raising the health system competitiveness in Armenia, improving medical management quality, public health, cooperation between the state and private sector, staff trainings and complete fulfillment of the Diaspora Armenians' potential were discussed.

Karapetyan underscored the importance of continuing the cooperation, instructing Health Minister Levon Altunyan to jointly discuss possibilities of implementing new programs.
