YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) of Armenia on Wednesday adopted the bill on NA Regulation, in the first reading.

The draft law passed with a vote of 93 for, 2 against and 7 abstentions, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from Parliament.

In addition, the NA endorsed the bill on the guarantees for the activities of its MPs, and with a vote of 95 for and 7 abstentions.

The NA special session has ended.

The new law on NA Regulation aims to reflect the increasing role of the next National Assembly, pursuant to constitutional amendments.

This bill gives new powers to Armenia’s MPs and parliamentary factions, and, also, expands the powers of the parliamentary opposition.
