YEREVAN. – Great Britain is closely following the reforms of the new Government of Armenia, British Ambassador Judith Margaret Farnworth said at a press conference on Friday.

In her words, if these reforms are conducted, they will be useful in terms of attracting investments to Armenia.

The UK diplomat said they endeavor to help Armenia in the economic sector, too. As per Farnworth, each and every country needs to be trustworthy in order to attract investments. She added that they are taking specific steps; for example, they help establish transparency in the mining sector of Armenia.

The ambassador noted that the UK works with the Armenian government also toward the implementation of the anticorruption program.   

Judith Farnworth added that the other projects are linked to the IT sector. In this connection, she stated that they try to establish ties between Armenian IT companies and Great Britain. In addition, she said they work towards restarting the respective policy framework, in the global sense.
