YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan will not manage to solve Karabakh conflict with a large-scale war, former Armenian defense minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan told reporters on Friday.
Baku will do nothing but use blackmail through permanent ceasefire violations on the line of contact, he believes.
“All three presidents of Armenia said that we are willing to cede territory in exchange for the status. This is a negotiation approach. Azerbaijan says it is their territory, and the status of Nagorno- Karabakh is out of the question. After the April events, the approach of the Armenian side is as follow: no negotiations as long as there are no mechanisms to identify the violator of ceasefire,” Harutyunayan explained.
As reported earlier, three Armenian servicemen were wounded in Karabakh on December 1 in ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani side.
