YEREVAN. - We will try to improve the life in Armenia so that there is no migration.

Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan stated the aforementioned on Saturday, responding to questions during an event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU).

Asked what steps the Government will make when the migration from Armenia is gradually growing, the PM said:  '' We will try to improve the life in Armenia so that there is no migration, so that there is no wish to migrate.''

One of the discussion members noted that Armenia has a high level of unemployment, the Government still making the staff of agencies redundant, to which Karapetyan said that the reduction of the uneployment level requires rousing interest in business so that they can create jobs.

Speaking about the redundancies in the state system, the Prime Minister said that complaints are regularly made about the inefficient work of the state system.

''If enrichment is inefficient, how can I keep them? I am sure we are doing right,'' he said.

Referring to the price hike ahead of the New Year, the PM also noted that the price surveillance mechanisms are ineffective.  ''For the prices not to go up, the competition should grow. I don't see price surveillance in our functions,'' Karapetan said.
