Secretary of the Japanese Cabinet of Ministers, Yoshihide Suga, stated that the Japanese side would like to gift another puppy of Akita Inu breed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.

The gift might be handed during Putin’s official visit to the country, which is scheduled for December 15-16.

“We are discussing such an opportunity [with Moscow] but have received no positive answer yet,” Suga noted.

In 2012, Governor of Akita prefecture, Norihisa Satake, gifted Putin an Akita Inu, which is known from the film Hachikō. The Russian President’s new pet was named Yume.
