Norway, which is famous for its beautiful fjords and quite expensive alcohol, will henceforth also be known for its cheese, Kedem reports.

Norwegian Kraftkar blue cheese has become the grand prix laureate of the World Cheese Awards 2016 international cheese festival, which was held in the Spanish city of San Sebastián.

Kraftkar has been produced by Tingvollost family farm for 12 years. The farm annually produces 20 tons of cheese made from pasteurized cow milk. The product bypassed Spanish, French, Swedish and other types of cheese by its quality, getting maximal scores of the judges among more than 3000 types of cheese from 31 countries.

Kraftkar delighted the jury so much that they described it as “the best cheese in the history of the event.”
