YEREVAN. - The Diaspora Ministry of Armenia cannot change the country's Tax Code for Syrian Armenians.

Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan told the aforementioned to reporters in the National Assembly (NA) Tuesday.

Responding to the question of Armenian News – NEWS.am on the dissatisfaction of Syrian Armenians with the high taxes, the Minister noted: ''Syrian Armenians come to their homeland and integrate in our socieaty, therefore, all our problems also relate to them. There is a difference here in cultures, laws and approaches. Those people lived in another country.''

According to the Minister, the first few months are apparently a little tense, especially for entrepreneurs, until they get used and overcome these difficulties.  ''We cannot create tax laws specially for Syrian Armenians, since tomorrow everybody will register their businesses by the names of Syrian Armenians and nobody will pay taxes or they will pay them incompletely. Thus, we have decided the following: Syrian Armenians must get familiarized with our laws for a month. Then we help them write business-plans. When we see that the given business plan is on the right path, we give them a loan in the amount of up to $15,000 for 5 years at 4 percent interest rate. We do this not for a day, but for five consecutive years,'' Hakobyan stressed.

On average, 50 Syrian Armenian—approximately 10-15 families—arrive in Armenia every month, she added.
