Mexico's president again changes the country's ambassador to the United States, appointing Geronimo Gutierrez Fernandez, informs the Mexican Foreign Ministry. The current ambassador, Carlos Sada Solana will continue to perform his duties until January 23 and is expected to leave, when Donald Trump takes his office. He will be present at Trump's inauguration, said the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

Solana was appointed as an ambassador in April 2016. On January 23, he will assume the position of Deputy Minister of North America’s Foreign Affairs. The new Ambassador Gutierrez currently is the manager general of the North American Development Bank. The US authorities approved his candidacy, after receiving the consent and approval of the Mexican Senate.

The US and Mexico has been suffering tense period, since the US President-Elect Trump, told that he intends to build a wall on the border of Mexico. Trump threatened to ban Mexican migrants' remittances to their homeland, in case Mexico refuses his plans.
