A total of 560 people were injured as a result of more than 3,500 attacks that occurred in the year past against immigrants in Germany; 43 of these victims were children.

According to German government data, a total of 3,533 such attacks took place in the country, in 2016. This is noted in the report that was received as a result of a parliamentary inquiry, the German Deutsche Welle (DW) TV and radio company reported citing the Funke Mediengruppe newspaper of the country. 

A total of 2,545 of these attacks took place outside the shelters for these immigrants, whereas 988 attacks occurred on these very shelters.

In addition, there are 217 known cases of attacks on volunteers and charitable organizations in Germany.
