President of the European Council Donald Tusk said the negotiations on a new framework agreement have been concluded between Armenia and EU.

“New agreement will broaden the scope of our relations taking into account the new global political and economic interest we share and challenges we want to face together,” he said.

The EU is looking forward to strong cooperation in energy transport and environment for new opportunities and for increased mobility “for the benefit of our citizens”.

President of the European Council said they had discussed shared values, including commitment to democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

“We intend to expand relations in the coming years and have encouraged Armenia to continue reforms including economic development, business environment, the judiciary, human rights, fight against corruption and measures to ensure free and fair elections,” he added.

In his speech President Tusk said the EU is Armenia's first trade partner, first international donor, and strongest supporter of reforms.
