Some details have become known in connection with the incident involving an airplane, in which Belarusian border guards had “found” radioactive equipment.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko had voiced this loud accusation during Monday's consultation.

In his words, this device was detected on board a plane that had arrived from Armenia. The Belarusian president, however, “forgot” to mention that this aircraft belongs to a Belarusian airline.

This is not the first time that the president of Belarus permits himself to be publicly silent and to distort facts.

The Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia informed ArmInfo Information Company that on October 3, 2016, Frid company of Croatia supplied the control equipment to Armenia, it was delivered by JSC Aircompany Grodno of Belarus, and with an arrangement that it will deliver this equipment back in the same way.

On March 15 of the current year, this Belarusian airline submitted an application for conducting a flight from Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan and Gomel, Belarus. The respective attached documents included information on the nature of the cargo, and this was informed to Belarusian aviation authorities, whereupon this flight was sanctioned.

The ministry stressed that the transportation of this equipment was conducted based on the contract with the respective transport company, and the relevant documents and contracts that meet all relevant international regulations.

As reported earlier, Armenia on Monday refuted the statement of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

“In connection with the mentioned publication, we assure that baggage and passengers pass proper control in the airport and no violation was revealed as a result of the actions carried out within the powers of customs. Therefore, the possibility that a fact of violation was not noticed, is out of the question,” the State Revenue Committee of Armenia had informed.
