YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia has stated that the nomination of Polad Bulbuloglu, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia, to the office of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is duplicity of the Azerbaijani leadership.

Commenting—at the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am—on Bülbüloğlu’s respective nomination, MFA Spokesperson Tigran Balayan said: “Destroying ancient cultural monuments, doing everything against UNESCO values and principles is duplicity. Not to mention the fact that a man, who favors war and justifies the use of force, is nominated [as UNESCO Director-General]; this is another example of the duplicity of the Azerbaijani leadership.”
